Sherborne House – Haunt

RESIDENCY AND COMMISSION

During 2003 I was artist in residence for the Timeline Project at Sherborne House. Work created in response to the building and it’s history was presented at ‘Haunt’ one of a number of exhibitions that were part of the project that explored the concept of passing time and the  presence of the past.

Mainly Eighteenth Century but dating in parts from Tudor times Sherborne House was used as a school for many years. Old timetables littered the floors, text books lined the shelves of store cupboards and layers of peeling magnolia paint occasionally revealed the rich colours of the 18th Century decor.
