COMMISSION

This commission for the Baptist Church in Yeovil, Somerset was a collaboration with furniture designers Illingworth & Partridge. The brief was to create a a wall screen inspired by music. The work uses a single ash tree sliced along its length into several thin sections and sliced again along each length. The natural forms in the growth of the tree influenced the design which was accentuated by inlaid discs of black ash to convey a sense of rhythm and musical notation.
